December 13th Meeting Minutes!

Present: Eliza, Ana, Sylka, Eliyah, Karen, Amelia, Darcy, Isaac, Jud, Cora

Thanks to Jud, Amelia and Xing we had some delicious smoothies, cookies and brownies!

     “Movie with the Mayor” featuring honored guest speaker Mayor Coss followed by a screening of “Chasing Ice”

§  January 17^th 7 pm

§  Suggested donation of $5

§  Helping people connect with climate issues through artistic mediums

o   Food + drinks (using club funds)

§  Perhaps using reusable containers

§  Popcorn

§  Honest tea - Sam’s Club

§  Hot cocoa

§  Complimentary cheese and crackers

o   Flyer

§  Karen’s awesome sketch will be the background

·       Text using white font to save ink

§  Cora and Jud will pass ideas back over the break

·       Will send out official flyer asap for everyone to start distributing!

o   Publicity

§  Announcements at assembly (and other schools?) following Winter Break

·       Be thinking about your connections with students at other schools (see if they can make an announcement for us!)

§  Karen will create Facebook event

§  Cora will enlist Hobbits and Loving the Lands

·       Meeting the first Thursday we get back

o   Posters

§  We can put out some of the posters we had for Climate Night

§  Need to make several large ones specific to the event

o   Movie copy

§  Will come from Naomi and New Energy Economy

§  If not, Isaac has a copy!

o   Atrium Layout

§  Similar to Climate Night with the portable screen, projector, and podium in the corner of the Atrium near Jennifer Dryfoos’s office

§  Darcy will talk with Mr. Zappe about tech help

     Bake Sale December 10^th during lunch => we raised over $70!!

o   Hopefully we will do more next semester (the smoothies were a hit!)

     Survey

o   on our school’s transportation => went out!

     Double sided printer settings + advisory announcements

o   Tuesday we come back

     Arroyo cleanup will start up following our movie event

     Skiing Trip!!!

o   At Santa Fe - January 25^th and February 1st

Things to do over break

     Spread the event to everyone (especially students) you know!

     Respond which day you are available to go skiing

     Play in the snow, drink tea by the fire and relax!!!

Here are the minutes from last Friday's meeting. Many of you were gone at Speech and Debate or other various activities, so please take a look and let me know if you have any questions!

Also, a reminder, we will be having a bake sale this Tuesday during lunch, so if you're not already on the list, please think about bringing something to sell! (Hopefully another group won't prevent us from selling this time!)
