Movie with the Mayor Minutes!!!

Thank you all for all of your work! This is going to be a really fantastic event. The only work now is to promote the event to others. I will reiterate what I said in the last email: if each of us brings three other guests, we could have an audience of over 80 people. Please especially hunt down all of your friends at other schools and make them come (you can especially emphasize the food)!
Everyone on Facebook, please make sure to make a couple of posts about how excited you are about this event over the next few weeks, and share it on others’ walls.
This is really important both for our clubs and for the school. We will be having a meeting next Tuesday during lunch to talk about prepared questions for the Mayor, and definitely next Thursday to take care of any last minute details.

New Year's Update!

Happy, happy New Year everyone!
I hope you are all having a most wonderful break. :)

Our Movie Night with the Mayor event is coming up soon (January 17th) and now is a great time to start spreading the word!
I have attached the flyer below (thanks to Karen Girdner for her great artwork!). When you visit your favorite coffee shop, restaurant or other public location, be sure to ask if you can post a copy!

Just think, if each of us invites three people, we will have an audience of over 80 people!
That would be fantastic. We really want to make sure that we get students from other schools involved. It would be nice to have a primarily youth audience!
This is an exciting opportunity both for our club, and for our school, and I know that Mayor Coss is really looking forward to speaking.
I mean really, an intimate talk with the Mayor and then an incredibly beautiful Academy Award-nominated film, AND free food?

So please, start handing and emailing out the poster to family and friends! If you are on Facebook, make sure to respond to the event invite from Karen and share it with others.
Especially, be sure to connect with friends from other schools and see if they can make an announcement about the event at their school!
This is truly for the community.

Once we get back, we will be working together with the Loving the Lands and Hobbits to publicize the event at school (we'll need to come up with some creative announcements) as well as finalizing how things are going to work on the day of the event food/tech/program-wise.

Thank you so much for all of your work, and enjoy the rest of your break!
